Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Job Mission:
Performs engineering and associated support activities in operations, production or maintenance environments. Designs and installs processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufacturing facilities to meet quality, safety and productivity standards. Plans, designs and estimates time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components. Analyses and develops solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, guidelines and legal requirements and provides advice on issues within the engineering and maintenance field.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for generating annual master plans for the area including costs and resource requirements and clearly defining on how success will be measured for the area responsible;
- Ensure execution of engineering or maintenance activities within area of responsibility using excellence asset life cycle approach;
- Manage outsourced engineering, maintenance or facility contracts and resources to meet site requirements;
- Constantly seek for productivity in the group, questioning practices and measuring activity time to enable simplification and productivity gains;
- Ensure equipment and processes are engineered, maintained and operated within all local, national, business codes and regulations;
- Monitor the area budget, by controlling budget evolution, identifying any deviations between the real and the foreseen and taking corrective measures;
- Providing leadership and direction to colleagues within the area to ensure that goals, targets and expectations are communicated clearly;
- Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with environmental, health & safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice;
- Undertake any additional tasks commensurate with the role as and when required.
Profile:
- University, or equivalent, qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation);
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in a Maintenance Department with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others;
- Relevant experience in maintenance of an industry environment, preferably in the food, chemical or pharmaceutical industry;
- Fluent in both written, spoken English and Chinese;
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package;
- Able to work under tight schedule;
- Good coordination and communication skills.
