Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities associated with print production and art buying in the agency. The Production Manager works in a highly collaborative environment to coordinate the production of creative materials with all the disciplines within the company.
Reports directly to: Head of Production
Job Responsibilities:
- Solicit quotes from suppliers for the preparation of client estimates.
- Issue purchase orders for and approve invoices from vendors.
- Prepare mechanical specifications for Account Service for inclusion in the brief to studio
- Review and evaluate colour proofs with art directors and other team members.
- Order colour separations and other production related materials i.e. dupe films, slides, laminations, transparencies and etc.
- Attend press checks for printed materials.
- Responsible for researching outside vendors to complete tasks in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Responsible for cost management of projects.
- Responsible for other duties and projects as assigned.
- Advise Account Servicing / Creative and Studio how to proceed with a project.
Ideal Candidate:
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Four to five years advertising production experience required.
- Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
- An in-depth knowledge of printing.
- Complete knowledge of digital pre-press and electronic retouching.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Initiative and good team player.
